August 24 - September 2, 2007 - Dave & Chris join me in my planned vacation to Vegas, Zion, Bryce and Escalante National Staircase; they replace Bill after we split. When they join the plan I reconfigure the itinerary to include North Rim of the Grand Canyon, since this was on their wish list.
We flew in and out of Vegas - so to see the front end of this trip - visit my Vegas pages. It was screaming hot, but we also were impacted by some ehavy rains on the front end of the trip that precluded my plans to hike slot canyons; many were inaccessible due to the rains.
We logged over 2,000 miles on the rental car (I did all the driving) and went through a case or two of water and Propel - but we saw magnificent red rock formations and waterfalls and had lots ogf laughs along the way.
Dave & Chris had to adjust to my "there's no time to relax on vacation" approach - which is driven by capturing the good early morning light for photos and the explaore til you drop and then catch the sunset, which often happens after 9 pm in summer.
Despite the driven schedule - it was a memorable trip and I hope you enjoy the photos through this and other sections.
