February 29 - March 11, 2008, I traveled with the South Jersey Ski Club to Italy. We flew to Venice and traveled by bus to Val Gardena in the Dolomite region where we skied the are for the week. We stayed at the Hotel Antares in Selva Gardena Wolkenstein and skied Selva, the Sella Ronde, Christina and Ortisei.

The weather was warm and sunny - and while appreciated, made for some mushy skiing. However, the beautiful vistas and quaint eateries on the slopes made us forget the slushy snow.

On March 8 we left the ski area and traveled by bus back to Venice for the remainder of the trip. See the Venice pages for the continuation of this journey.
